Department of Education

The Department of Education (DE) was among the first four departments founded with the establishment of the university in 2002. The Department is currently among the top departments with regard to faculty, students and programs. It falls under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Initially two programs B.A. (Hons) Education, B.Ed. one-year and M.Ed were started. The other programs i.e., B.S (Education), M.Phil. and PhD. were commenced gearing to meet the needs of rapidly changing societal requirements. The Department educates students for the new century characterized by rapid and constant change, the unpredictability of human affairs and the transformation of the work place. It aims to equip students with modern knowledge along with professional Education and Islamic values to play an active role in imparting quality Education.  

The Department of Education is providing pre-service and in-service teacher Education to cater the needs of elementary, secondary and higher Education by: for all segments of society for the improvement of Education in the region through research and generating new knowledge; providing scholarship and grant activities that connect theory to practice; and contributing to effective policy, curriculum and pedagogy.

The Department of Education aims to prepare professional teachers with higher and nobler ideas of Islam and socialize them into well-rounded persons ever ready to serve their nation.
