Established in August 2008, the Department of Zoology at Hazara University, Mansehra, is a leading center for biological sciences within the Faculty of Biological and Health Sciences. Since our establishment in 2008, the Department of Zoology has stood as a beacon of academic and research excellence within the Faculty of Biological and Health Sciences. It is my honor to lead a department that is not only one of the most productive research units at the university but also a home to a growing community of approximately 300 passionate students and dedicated scholars.

In response to the evolving needs of the scientific world and the economic landscape of Pakistan, we have recently expanded our academic portfolio. Along with our flagship BS, MPhil, and PhD in Zoology, we are proud to introduce our new specialized degree: BS in Fisheries and Aquaculture. This program leverages our unique geographical location in the Hazara region—a natural hub for faunal diversity—to provide students with hands-on experience in one of the most vital sectors of our national economy.
