The BS Fisheries and Aquaculture program aims to achieve the following specific objectives:

Technical Expertise in Aquaculture: To equip students with practical knowledge of fish breeding, hatchery management, and the design of aquaculture systems (ponds, cages, and RAS).

Sustainable Resource Management: To teach the principles of sustainable harvesting and the conservation of freshwater and marine aquatic resources.

Aquatic Health and Nutrition: To provide in-depth training in fish feed formulation, nutritional requirements, and the diagnosis and treatment of aquatic diseases.

Environmental Stewardship: To promote an understanding of the impact of human activities on aquatic ecosystems and the implementation of biosecurity measures.

Entrepreneurial Development: To foster the skills necessary for students to establish and manage their own commercial fisheries ventures, contributing to national economic growth.

The Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Aquaculture at Hazara University is a specialized four-year degree program developed in response to the growing global demand for sustainable aquatic food production. Designed in full compliance with the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1, this program provides a deep dive into the science of managing, conserving, and farming aquatic organisms.
