The MPhil Zoology program is designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Advanced Theoretical Knowledge: To provide an in-depth understanding of specialized zoological fields beyond the undergraduate level.

  • Research Autonomy: To equip students with the skills required to design, execute, and document independent scientific research.

  • Methodological Mastery: To train students in the use of sophisticated laboratory equipment and modern computational tools for data analysis.

  • Specialization: To offer elective pathways that allow students to become experts in niche areas such as Entomology, Wildlife Management, or Molecular Genetics.

  • Solution-Oriented Thinking: To enable graduates to develop innovative solutions for critical environmental issues, including evolutionary biology and sustainability.

  • Program Description

The Master of Philosophy in Zoology at Hazara University is a rigorous research-oriented program designed in strict alignment with the HEC Graduate Education Policy 2023. This program serves as a bridge between advanced academic study and professional scientific research. It is aimed at deepening students' expertise in core zoological disciplines—such as Animal Physiology, Behavior, Ecology, and Molecular Biology—while emphasizing the latest technological advancements and research methodologies.

Through a combination of advanced elective coursework and a supervised research thesis, students are trained to address complex challenges in biodiversity, animal health, and ecological preservation. The program allows for specialization in emerging areas, ensuring that graduates can tailor their studies to meet specific career goals in academia or industry.
