Tourism and hospitality is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, with immense potential in Pakistan. It is not confined to hotels alone; it also embraces dining, gastronomy, cultural festivals, arts and crafts, travel services, luxury resorts, sports and adventure venues, health spas, shopping centers, theme parks, and countless other experiences linked to travel and leisure.

At Hazara University Mansehra, the Department of Tourism & Hospitality is among the rapidly growing departments. In a short span of time, it has achieved remarkable progress. By offering BS and MPhil degrees in Tourism & Hospitality, the department aims to strengthen the industry while contributing to economic development. This progress not only addresses issues like unemployment, weak infrastructure, and environmental challenges, but also promotes social well-being and enhances the positive image of the country.

The National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Islamabad, has recognized the department as a “Centre of Excellence.” In collaboration with NAVTTC, the department regularly offers short courses to the unskilled youth of the region and make them capable to earn jobs in the relevant field and start entrepreneurial activities. The Department has also approved a variety of certificate, diploma, and specialized training courses in tourism and hospitality.

Currently, the department is equipped with five modern labs—Front Office, Housekeeping, Restaurant, Kitchen, and Computer—providing students with essential hands-on learning opportunities along with a Café and a Guest House and Tourist Information Centre. 

To contribute towards the development of national norm, identity in the world as beautiful land, hospitable society and a place of worth to visit.

To produce real industry professionals, policy makers, managers, supervisors, innovators, motivators and above all the entrepreneurs in the fastest growing industry of the world.
