About Me

Dr. Isfahan Tauseef is one of the pioneer faculty members of the Microbiology department with a distinguished academic and research career. He holds an MPhil in Microbiology (2004-2006) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and earned his PhD (2008-2012) from the University of Leicester, UK. His Doctoral thesis research on bacterial phase variation and immune modulation advanced insights into host-pathogen interactions, immune evasion mechanisms and vaccine development. Currently, his research interests span host-pathogen interactions, microbial bioproduct development, and gut microbiome-based health interventions. Supported by the HEC-funded project, Dr. Tauseef is the inventor of a novel 3D biocompatible scaffold, developed from bacterial cellulose and fish collagen peptides, aimed at wound healing and skin regeneration. Dr Tauseef leads and supervises advanced research in host-pathogen dynamics, microbial fermentation-based scaffold fabrication, and gut microbiota responses under physiological stress, with impactful findings published in reputed scientific journals.
