Program Objective

Objectives of the BS Political Science Program

  1. Develop Foundational Knowledge

    • Provide students with a strong understanding of the core concepts, theories, and methods in political science and its subfields (comparative politics, international relations, political theory, public administration, and governance).

  2. Promote Critical Thinking & Analysis

    • Train students to critically evaluate political systems, institutions, policies, and political behavior, both locally and globally.

  3. Encourage Civic Awareness & Responsibility

    • Foster an appreciation of constitutional values, democratic principles, human rights, and rule of law, preparing students to become responsible citizens and leaders.

  4. Strengthen Research & Analytical Skills

    • Equip students with qualitative and quantitative research methods to analyze political issues and contribute to scholarly debates and policy formulation.

  5. Enhance Communication & Leadership Abilities

    • Develop students’ skills in effective communication, debate, negotiation, and leadership to prepare them for public service, academia, and civil society roles.

  6. Cultivate a Global Perspective

    • Encourage understanding of global politics, international organizations, foreign policy, and cross-cultural relations to meet the challenges of an interconnected world.

  7. Prepare for Careers & Advanced Studies

    • Enable students to pursue careers in academia, public service, international organizations, NGOs, media, and research institutions, or continue advanced studies in political science and related fields.

Program Description

The BS Political Science program at Hazara University, Mansehra, is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of political systems, governance structures, public policies, and international relations. The program emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling students to critically analyze political phenomena at local, national, and global levels. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students are exposed to political philosophy, comparative politics, international relations, public administration, and research methodologies.

The program aims to cultivate informed, analytical, and responsible graduates who are prepared to contribute to society as scholars, policymakers, administrators, and active citizens.

Career Outcomes

Graduates of the BS Political Science program will be equipped for diverse career paths, including but not limited to:
